Pair of vintage Cosmos Chairs in Ruby red by Augusto Bozzi for Saporiti 1954

Perfectly upholstered in Raspberry fabric, pair of Cosmos lounge chairs designed by Augusto Bozzi for Saporiti Italia, Italy 1954. The black coated metal wire frames with solid brass feet give the chairs an elegant and delicate appearance. The rounded shape of the shell of this model of Cosmos chairs is quite rare. The chairs have been reupholstered the original way, entirely stitched by hand with a perfect Ruby red Raspberry red fabric. The graphic Kvadrat fabric is a melange of deep red and a purple weaving in 75 wool 25 synthetics, which makes the color look different from every side depending the light creating an amazing shine. The color of the fabric is difficult to display, on the pictures the color looks more pink than the chairs actually are. We will be happy to send a sample of the fabric on request. The foam inside has been renewed. The chairs are very comfortable and are both marked with manufacturers label on the frame. The pair is in excellent vintage condition; the seating shells are like new, the frames show wear according with age and use.
