Vedel has worked for several renowned Danish design companies, including furniture manufacturer Søren Willadsen. He has also worked as a design consultant for the porcelain company Royal Copenhagen.
His most famous creations are wooden animal figurines, which were produced by the Danish toy manufacturer Architectmade. These figurines were designed to be manipulated and assembled by children, stimulating their creativity and imagination.
Vedel has won several awards for his design work, including the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1957 for his "Den Permanente" chair. His creations are exhibited in design museums around the world, including New York's Museum of Modern Art and London's Victoria and Albert Museum. Today, Kristian Solmer Vedel's creations are considered classics of Scandinavian design.
