Gaetano SCIOLARI

An outstanding businessman, Sciolari was also a creative designer. Over the course of his career, he designed such magnificent and incredible luminaires as the "Mod A5011" suspension lamp (circa 1950), the "4079" floor lamp (1965) and, of course, the Cubic chandelier (1970s). Biography Angelo Gaetano Sciolari was born in Italy in 1927. After graduating from the Faculty of Architecture, the young man returned to his first passion: cinema, and in particular filmmaking. However, after the death of his father in 1949, Sciolari had no choice but to take over the family lighting production business. In just a few years, the designer transformed the company, propelling it onto the international stage. Sciolari became the No. 1 Italian lighting retailer in the United States (imported by America by Lightolier & Progress Lighting)! Sciolari's creations were even featured in the famous TV series Dallas! Gaetano is not only a brilliant entrepreneur, but also a prolific and talented designer. He has worked for design greats such as Stilnovo, Boulanger and Stilkronen.
