Sipek then moved to Amsterdam, where he founded his own design studio in 1983. He has worked with many renowned companies, including Driade, Leitmotiv, Baccarat and Swarovski. His creations are characterized by their use of vivid colors, organic shapes and luxurious materials such as hand-blown glass and crystal.
In addition to his design work, Sipek has also taught at several art and design schools, including the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris.
Borek Sipek is considered one of the most important and influential designers of his generation, with a poetic and narrative approach to design that has inspired many other creators. He died in 2016 at the age of 67.
