About this vintage design furniture
A pair of lounge chairs designed by Jens Risom in 1941. Jens Risom’s designs were the first pieces conceived for and manufactured by Knoll in the USA. Due to wartime material restrictions, the lounge chair was originally constructed of simple maple frames and discarded parachute webbing. This pair feature beige webbing.

About the designer
Jens RISOM
1916 - 2016Jens Risom (1916-2016) was a Danish-born designer who made a name for himself in the United States. After studying cabinetmaking in Copenhagen, he worked for the famous Danish designer Kaare Klint before moving to the USA in 1939.
