In 1941, Jens Risom began working for furniture manufacturer Hans Knoll, where he designed some of his most famous pieces, such as the Jens Risom Lounge chair. After the Second World War, he founded his own furniture design company, Jens Risom Design, which enjoyed great success in the 1950s and 1960s.
Jens Risom's designs are often characterized by their simplicity, functionality and elegance. He was one of the first designers to incorporate modern materials such as plywood and rubber into furniture design.
Over the years, Jens Risom has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the prestigious American Institute of Architects Award in 1966. Today, his creations are considered classics of modern design and are exhibited in museums around the world.
