Vintage "Type 5095" acrylic pendant lamp by Lyktan Bankeryds Belysning, Sweden 1970

A large 45 x 45 cm pendant light made from semi transparent cut out plastic sheets. A very decorative globe construction that takes on various shapes depending on the view angle. It spreads a soft light around the room as well as gives a futuristic space age touch. These sheets are made from a softer material and do not dry out and crack with age as many acrylic lights from the 1960s and 70s. Good condition with a few marks of time. Standard E27 light bulb socket. For over 50 years, Lyktan Bankeryd's lighting has illuminated Nordic homes with innovative design. In the 60s, Lyktan was run by Karl and Inga Lindblom. The company was then widely known for its crystal chandeliers. Karl traveled from north to south with his truck and delivered lamps all year round. Inga took care of the business in Småland. In the 1980s, sons Stefan and Peter Lindblom took over the business. Reference : 309604
