Germany

About this vintage design furniture
This Ghyczy Garden Egg comes in a red plastic bowl with white seat covers. The bowl is in very good condition, no chips on the edge of the bowl. The hinge fits perfectly and is not broken. Only slight signs of wear on the lower edge of the bowl. The lid of this chair serves as a backrest when folded out and, when closed, provides weather protection for garden use. This piece of furniture is a work of art in the Space Age style and is a highlight in any room or garden. Peter Ghyczy designed this armchair at the end of the 1960s for Gottfried Reuter and the Elastogran manufacturer. When this company was sold to BASF, production of the chair went to East Germany and it was nicknamed Senftenberg Egg. An important piece of German design history.
