Vintage chandelier in lacquered steel and Murano glass by Barovier and Toso, Italy 1950

Spectacular piece. Almost impossible to see again. Large chandelier by Barovier and Toso designed in the late 1950s and manufactured in Italy. This impressive lamp is composed of a central lacquered steel disc from which two levels of hand-blown Murano glass hang and a central suspended Murano glass disc. The outer level of ice crystals consists of 35 pieces held together by brass appliqués. The interior level of ice crystals has 26 pieces held in the same way. Its large central disc of hand-blown Murano glass is suspended and held by a central brass threaded fixture. As for its condition, it has 3 of its parts repaired. This effective epoxy repair has managed to give them resistance. Aesthetically, these repairs do not affect the chandelier at all because they are located at the top of the interior level, which makes it totally invisible. Image attached.
