About this vintage design furniture
The set of 6 Penelope chairs is in excellent condition. The chrome-plated metal frames, as well as the black metal nets on the seat and back surfaces, show hardly any signs of wear. The special thing about these chairs is the innovative metal mesh, which was used in this form for the first time in the chair sector. This late design by the American designer Charles Pollock from 1982 for the Italian manufacturer Castelli developed into a design classic. Charles Pollock worked with George Nelson and for manufacturers such as Knoll, Thonet and Castelli.
