Vintage wall coat rack with swivel coat hooks, 1920s

Extra large,vintage, French wall-mount coat/hat rack, with 5 pegs. Piece is is made of beechwood, and showcases a beautifully hand-carved, "faux bamboo" effect reminiscent of the late 19th to early 20th century with a warm, golden-oak color (see photos.) The rack has 5 swivel-arms. Each one has its own horizontal, turned wood peg, (or long hook), with a mushroom cap-shaped form at the end (see photos.) The swivel arms are multi-directional: they move from left to right as well as through the center and back of the piece (see photos). The brass-colored, circular, hanging ring hooks mounted at both ends of the top of the rack, enable the piece to be hung against a wall, or into a beam or ceiling, making it versatile in terms of where one wishes to hang it, and how one wishes to use it. Piece is in good, original and vintage condition with signs and marks of age and previous usage commensurate with time, on the overall structure (see photos.) It has maintained a very nice patina of time. Some old signs of woodworm on the overall structure (see photos), but nothing that affects its functionality. The wood has been treated as well as polished and oiled, with respect to the original patina. The first swivel on the left has old mark of age or old repair on the side.
