About this vintage design furniture
Very rare lounge chair designed in the 1950s. The chair is newly reupholstered in a high quality Dutch "ploeg" fabric. This chair is attributed to Theo Ruth for Wagemans and Van Tuinen in the mid 1950s. Wagemans and Van Tuinen later became Artifort. From 1936 to the late 1950s, Theo Ruth became a permanent designer for Artifort. This piece is built on an original and more seen Wagemans metal frame in very good condition, the tongue seat is most likely handmade by the designer and makes this chair extremely comfortable as well as a unique and timeless object.
