Vintage marble and onyx coffee table, 1970

Gorgeous mid-century vintage cocktail coffee table with a multi-colored marble and onyx top, on a gilded brass frame, from the 60s 70s. The table top features a mosaic design, with a mix of marble and onyx with a wide variety of naturally colored stones, combining hues, white, gold, gray, pink and brown (see photos.) The contrast with the shiny, gilded frame, legs and carved end caps really make this glamorous table a remarkable conversation piece. The rectangular gilded brass frame features a geometric design reminiscent of the style of the Parisian design house, Maison Jansen, there are 2 concave shapes on either side of a central gilded brass colored tube, to form an elegant "arch" shape. The piece is in very good original condition, with some light traces and marks of use related to time on the top and a patina of time, on the structure and the brass legs (see photos.) The tray shows very light traces of use. There are 2, tiny old use marks, on the glaze on 2 different edges of the piece (see photos with 1 cent coin for perspective.) There is also, a tiny old use mark, just under 1 corner of the table top, which is not really visible to the eye when looking at the table, but we thought it was worth noting (see photo.) The brass frame, is overall, in good vintage condition, again, with some light marks and signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time (see photos.) The end caps have only been waxed, (not painted), with a protective brass wax, to enhance them and keep them as close to the original condition as possible. The table is sturdy and solid. It has been only lightly cleaned respecting the original patina. The top is removable. A fantastic and timeless piece that will look great in any vintage, mid-century, contemporary, classic or regency decor.
