A rare, early edition “crate” desk and matching chair, designed by Gerrit Rietveld and manufactured by Cassina in Italy around 1970. this set is highly recognizable as one of the most iconic designs from Dutch design history Made of high quality beech wood in only rectangular shapes, the basic construction of these pieces fits very well in many different interiors and will definitely draw the attention. The wood has a nice, warm brown colour. Desk sizes: W. 175 x D. 76 x H. 70 cm Chair sizes: W. 56 x D. 56 x H. 75 (SH. 39) cm The desk and chair both have the original manufacturer’s stamp underneath It remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
