About this vintage design furniture

Mid-century Murano "bullicante" glass ashtray by Barovier and Toso (Italy, 1960s). Very dark violet/purple glass with a controlled bubble effect known as "bullicante" embedded in the glass. Very decorative. Ideal as a small bowl. Width: 10 cm; depth: 10 cm; height: 4.5 cm. Very good vintage condition, with the usual scratches on the bottom. Reference : 282372

Barovier is the name of a famous family of Italian glassmakers who have been active in the glass industry for over seven centuries. Among the most notable members of this family is Ercole Barovier (1889-1974), a designer and master glassmaker who played an important role in the 20th-century renaissance of the Murano glass industry.
