About this vintage design furniture

The convertible sleeping armchair was designed by legendary Lithuanian architect Valerija Ema Cukermanienė, who passed away just a few years ago. A solid oak and plywood combination frame covered in walnut mordant and transparent lacquer. Seating fully reupholstered in cozy anthracite felt. The armchair is a symbol of aspired western modernism in the Soviet Block. Back in the day, behind the Iron Curtain, this was a very popular sleeping solution for a guest, who is staying at night.
