Vintage living room set consisting of a table and 4 stools in Bunho, Portugal 1960

This table and stool set was produced in Portugal in the 1960s. It is made of bunho which is "a perennial herb of the European peppermint family (...) common in wet and swampy areas, such as streams, ponds, swamps and trees in northern and central Portugal. "Since time immemorial, craftsmen in our country have used them to create furniture and other utilitarian objects. It is collected and worked by hand. What's more, it is a durable material: natural, durable and available in large quantities. If in the past, several craftsmen worked on the bunho, only one remains today. And these banks, although larger than pearls, are no less rare, no less perfect". Table: 70x70x40 cm Stools: Diameter: from 36 cm to 42 cm Height: from 36 to 39 cm In very good condition.
