About this vintage design furniture
The Birdie is a modernist style lamp designed in 1952 by Birger Dahl for Sønnico, Norway. These wall lights are cone-shaped and are made of black painted metal and brass fixings. In 1954, the Birdie series table lamp was awarded the highly esteemed Gold Medal at the Milan Triennial. Measures: Cone 20 cmH x 9 x 11 cmD. Length from the brackets and upright position. 22 cm. Neck adjustable left and right, up and down. Birger Dahl (1916-1998) was a pioneer in Scandinavian lighting and directed the design of Norwegian designer Sønnico for many years. What was so special about Birger Dahl's designs were the strict geometrical shapes, such as circles, cones and cylinders, which he softened with gentle contours.

Aksel Dahl is a Danish industrial designer born in 1981. He studied at the Royal School of Architecture, Design and Conservation in Copenhagen, where he obtained a master's degree in industrial design in 2009.
