About this vintage design furniture
Constantin side table designed by Simon Gavina in 1971 and manufactured by Studio Simon in the 2000’s. The Constantin is a tribute to Constantin Brancusi. It is a modern side table with a playful design. It was designed for the Ultramobile exhibition conceived by Studio Simon, Italy in 1971. His goal was to adapt the surreal object in a surprising way to daily use, making a poetic presence enters our homes. The base is made of solid waxed oak and the round tabletop is made of brass. Top-base connection with brass pins and nylon ferrules, floor protection with adhesive felt pads. Dimensions: h x d 59 x 48 cm. This is a late production by Simon. Since 26 September 2013 the Constantin side table is made by Cassina. A unique piece for the collector. Source: Book Dino Gavina. Still in very good condition, some minor wear due scratches in the brass.
