Erwin NAGEL

In 1923, Nagel founded his own company, called Nagel & Co, where he began producing typewriters under his own brand name, the Nagel Typewriter Company. His machines were hailed for their elegant, functional design, and won numerous awards at international exhibitions.

In addition to his contribution to the typewriter industry, Nagel also worked in other areas of industrial design, such as interior architecture and furniture. He also taught design at the Stuttgart Art School.

Unfortunately, Nagel was forced to close his company in 1933 due to the Nazis coming to power in Germany. He fled to Switzerland, where he continued to work as a designer until his death in 1948. Today, Nagel typewriters are prized collector's items among industrial design enthusiasts.
