After graduating, Sorth worked for several Danish design companies, including Fritz Hansen and Fredericia Furniture. He also worked for the Italian design company B&B Italia, where he designed several popular pieces of furniture.
Sorth's work has been hailed for its simplicity and timeless elegance, which have earned his creations a place in the permanent collections of many art and design museums around the world. His most famous creations include the "Samsas" leather chair, designed for Fritz Hansen, and the "Living Room Table", designed for Fredericia Furniture.
Over the course of his career, Sorth has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to design, including the Danish Design Prize in 1969 and the Gold Medal from the Society for the Promotion of the Arts in 1987.
