Perry King was born in 1938 in London, England. He studied at the Central School of Art and Design in London, graduating in Industrial Design in 1960. He went on to work for several major companies, including Olivetti and John Lewis. In 1968, he began working with Santiago Miranda for the King Miranda Associates design studio.
Santiago Miranda was born in 1947 in Caracas, Venezuela. He studied at the University of Los Andes, graduating in architecture in 1972. He then moved to London to study, where he met Perry King. Together, they founded King Miranda Associates and have worked on numerous industrial design projects, including products for the Alfa Romeo, B&B Italia, Luceplan and Pyrex brands.
Their work has won numerous awards, including four Compasso d'Oro awards in Italy and a Design Plus award in Germany. They are known for their approach to industrial design, which combines both functionality and aesthetics to create elegant, durable products. They worked together for over 40 years, until Perry King's retirement in 2012.
