Gangkofner was known for his experimental approach to glass design, using techniques such as etching, sandblasting and spraying to create unique textures and patterns. He was also interested in the use of light and color in his designs, creating pieces that seemed to change color depending on the viewing angle.
During his career, Gangkofner won numerous awards and exhibited his work in museums and galleries around the world. He has also taught at the Munich College of Design and the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts. Today, his creations are highly prized by collectors and lovers of modern glass art.
