Niels Eilersen grew up in a family of carpenters and began working in the family business at the age of 14. In 1934, he began working for a furniture manufacturer in Copenhagen, where he learned modern production techniques.
In 1936, he began working for a furniture company in Odense, where he designed his first pieces of furniture. In 1937, he set up his own company, the Eilersen firm, which quickly gained a reputation for the quality and innovative design of its products.
In the 1950s, Niels Eilersen began working with renowned designers to create modern, functional furniture, such as the "Great Lift" sofa and the "Chaise Longue" chair, which are still popular today.
Over the years, Eilersen has become one of Denmark's leading designer furniture companies, exporting its products all over the world. The company is still run by the Eilersen family and continues to produce high-quality furniture with a timeless design.
