Eriksen was greatly influenced by the modern movement and by designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Finn Juhl. He was one of the first to use materials such as plastic and molded plywood in his designs, creating organic, elegant forms.
His most famous creations include the "EKSTREM" chair for the Stouby company and the "Triplex" lamp for Louis Poulsen. The EKSTREM chair has become emblematic for its innovative design, which allows sitting in multiple comfortable positions, while the Triplex lamp has become famous for its simple, functional design.
Throughout his career, Eriksen has won many prestigious awards for his designs, including several Lunning prizes and the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennale. Today, his creations are considered classics of modern Danish design and are widely exhibited in museums and design collections around the world.
