In the 1960s, he moved to Denmark to work for the renowned furniture design company FDB Møbler, where he worked alongside such greats as Børge Mogensen and Poul M. Volther. He designed several pieces of furniture for the company, including the Eva armchair and the J77 chair, which have become classics of Danish design.
In 1969, Thams founded his own design company, Komplot Design, with designer Boris Berlin. Together, they created numerous products for companies such as Hay, Gubi, Lightyears and Le Klint. Their work has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Red Dot design prize.
Georg Thams was a highly influential designer, known for his minimalist, functional style. His creations are characterized by elegant simplicity and great attention to detail.
