In 1921, Gras began designing lighting fixtures and created the famous GRAS lamp, which has become a classic of French industrial design. This lamp, designed for offices and factories, was revolutionary at the time due to its flexibility and adjusting mechanism.
Over the years, Gras continued to work on numerous design projects, including furniture and objets d'art. He also taught industrial design at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Saint-Etienne for many years.
Although Bernard-Albin Gras died prematurely at the age of 57, his legacy as a renowned designer is still celebrated today. His GRAS lamp is still in production and is considered a classic example of French industrial design.
