Alf Svensson

In the 1950s and 1960s, Svensson designed a series of successful wooden furniture pieces in Sweden and other countries. He also worked on interior architecture projects, notably for the SAS airline.

In the 1970s, Svensson began working for the Lammhults furniture company. He designed several famous pieces, including the "Lambda" chair, which has become a classic of Scandinavian design.

During his career, Svensson won numerous awards for his designs, including the prestigious Lunning Prize in 1968. His work is held in the collections of several museums, including the National Museum in Stockholm and the Museum of Art and Design in New York.

Alf Svensson is considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th-century Scandinavian scene. His work is characterized by elegant, functional simplicity and the judicious use of natural materials.
