In 1956, Hauner founded his own jewelry and ceramics design company, Hauner Studio, in Milan. Over the years, the company expanded its product range to include furniture, lighting, textiles and fashion accessories.
Hauner specialized in designing products using natural and local materials, such as lava stone, ceramics and wood. His passion for organic shapes and vivid colors has given rise to original and innovative creations, which have been widely exhibited in Italy and abroad.
In 1962, Hauner moved to the island of Pantelleria, where he developed a close relationship with the local community and continued to design products inspired by the island's nature and culture. He founded a second company, Pantelleria Design, which produced furniture, upholstery and objects in lava stone.
Today, Carlo Hauner's creations are considered icons of Italian design from the 1950s and 1960s, and are exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.
