Stolle is best known for his collaboration with designers Pierre Paulin and Kho Liang Ie at the design agency Total Design. Together, they have designed furniture for companies such as Artifort and Ahrend.
Stolle has also worked on industrial design projects for companies such as Philips, DAF and PTT. He won several awards for his work, including the Dutch Architecture and Design Foundation prize in 1962.
Hein Stolle died in 2006 at the age of 82. Today, his work is exhibited in museums around the world, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and MoMA in New York.
