Throughout her career, Jette Helleroe has worked in a variety of media, including sculpture, painting, printmaking and ceramics. She has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group shows in Denmark and abroad.
Her work is often characterized by organic, abstract forms and bold use of color. She has also been influenced by African art, and has worked closely with African artists and craftsmen throughout her career.
Jette Helleroe has received numerous distinctions during her career, including the Eckersberg Prize in 1991 and the Thorvaldsen Prize in 2006. She was also appointed Knight of the Order of Dannebrog in 1992 and Commander in 2006 for her outstanding contribution to Danish visual arts.
