Carlo SCARPA

Scarpa is known for his ability to integrate the old and the new in his projects. He was passionate about restoring historic buildings, but he also created remarkable contemporary works. His artistic approach was to create functional designs that reflected the history and culture of the place in which they were created.

Scarpa worked on numerous projects in Italy and abroad, including the restoration of the Venice Biennale, the Museo di Castelvecchio in Verona, the Brion Cemetery in Treviso and the Querini Stampalia Foundation Museum in Venice. He also created furniture, glass objects and jewelry.

Carlo Scarpa was renowned for his attention to detail and meticulous execution of his projects. He received numerous awards throughout his career, including the Faenza International Ceramics Prize in 1956 and the National Architecture Prize in 1972.
