Cees BRAAKMAN & Adriaan DEKKER

Wim Rietveld was the son of Gerrit Rietveld, a famous Dutch designer and architect, and Friso Kramer had studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. Together, they designed many iconic pieces of post-war furniture, including the Result chair and the Pyramid table.

Their work was influenced by the industrial design movement and was characterized by simple forms, modern materials such as plywood and steel, and a focus on functionality and durability. Their creations won numerous awards and were widely exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.

Braakman & Dekker closed its doors in the late 1960s, but Rietveld and Kramer's legacy as pioneers of industrial design and modernism continues to inspire contemporary designers.
