Their collaboration began in the 1940s, when they were both studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. They went on to found their own design agency, where they worked on a wide variety of projects, from furniture and decorative objects to textiles and glassware.
Their work was often influenced by traditional Scandinavian designs, but they also incorporated elements of modernism and abstraction. They were greatly influenced by the work of designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Finn Juhl.
Their most famous creations include the Model 310 chair, the Model 107 chair, the Model 166 armchair, the Model 175 sofa and the Moduline shelving system. Their creations are still highly sought-after today, testifying to the durability and timeless quality of their designs.
