After working for Mitsubishi Electric, Motozawa joined Sony's design studio in 1971. During his 30-year career at Sony, he was responsible for the design of many popular electronic products, such as portable radios, tape recorders, televisions, cameras and personal computers.
Motozawa is best known for designing the famous Sony "TR" portable radio series, as well as the Handycam video camera. He has also won many prestigious awards for his work, including Japan's Good Design Award and Germany's iF Product Design Award.
Motozawa retired from Sony in 2001, but continues to work as an independent designer. His design philosophy focuses on creating simple, intuitive products that are accessible to all.
