Oddvin RYKKEN

In 1963, Rykken set up his own design company, Rykken Design, which produced a number of modern, functional pieces of furniture. He became famous for his leather chairs and sofas, characterized by simple geometric shapes and clean lines.

Rykken has also worked on major projects for international companies, including the design of seating for the conference rooms of the United Nations in New York. He won numerous awards for his work, including the highly prestigious Norwegian Design Award in 1964.

Although his work is often associated with the Scandinavian design movement, Rykken created a distinctive style that stood out from other designers of the time. He was one of the most influential designers of his time, and his furniture continues to be appreciated for its timeless elegance.
