About this vintage design furniture
Designed in 1944 by Danish architect Philip Arctander "Muslingestolen" or Clam chair was first produced by Nordisk Staal & Mobel Central, Denmark. This later version was produced under license by Vik & Blindheim, Norway, c1950s and is slightly larger than the Danish productions. Beech legs and arms with seat reupholstered in New Zealand off-white sheepskin.

Philip Arctander (1916-1994) was a Danish designer known for his work in the 1940s and 1950s. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as an architect before devoting himself to design.
