Set of 6 vintage porcelain plates by Pierre Frey, France

Exquisite set of six porcelain plates, designed by Pierre Frey and produced in the Gien porcelain factory. Each plate is original and different, with a different flower as the main motif: carnation, hydrangea, lilac... all of them in vibrant colors. The profile of the plates is multi-lobed, with a small detail that runs along the edge consisting of fine irregular green lines. The design corresponds to the “Fayence” collection by Pierre Fray, a maison founded in 1935 in Paris by the designer of the same name. La Maison Pierre Frey now offers wallpapers and wall coverings, rugs and decorative and furniture items, as well as fabrics for interior decoration. Produced in the Gien porcelain factory, one of the best French manufacturers of earthenware, ceramics and porcelain. Located in the Loire Valley, it is an exponent of luxurious and exquisite French-style savoir-faire. Throughout the 19th century, the manufacture acquired fame and prestige as a supplier of bespoke tableware to numerous aristocratic families in Europe. This search for excellence combined with creativity has allowed Gien Porcelain to obtain the distinction Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company).
