About this vintage design furniture
Excellent small vase or vase in high quality German ceramic glazed in white with a glossy finish. The base has a rhomboidal shape with undulating and irregular lines that rise towards the narrow mouth of the vase. Organic shapes and natural-looking finishes are in full trend, so this small vase fits very well with materials such as wood, but also in a cleaner and more minimalist decoration style.
The company was founded in 1908 in Rudolstadt-Volkstedt, and moved to Höhr-Grenzhausen in western Germany in 1952. In 1955, Klaus and Peter Müller took over production and a year later gave the company the name of Sgrafo Modern. Müller would become a pioneer and successfully develop a new patented technique for making ceramics called Sgrafo. The technique involved layering two or three layers of material (with different colors) on top of each other and then making indentations in the material to reveal the colors of the layers below so that they became visible.
Dimensions: 26 x 12 x 7 cm.
