About this vintage design furniture

This highly versatile and functional “Royal System” was originally designed by Poul Cadovius in 1948. This three-bay teak shelving system offers a wide variety of storage and display options. The set includes a very attractive basket weave lockable drop front bureau / desk with key, inside are four dovetail jointed drawers and pigeon holes. A shelved cupboard with wooden sliding doors, a display cabinet with adjustable glass shelf and sliding glass doors, along with eight shelves of varying sizes, one being a lectern shelf for magazines, books or paperwork. The cabinets are simply hung from pins, whilst the shelves are hung from metal hangers that attach through the holes that run the full length of the four uprights. This modular arrangement comprises of 15 pieces (including the uprights) and will need an 8ft wall to display as seen in the images. The setup is in nice period condition, showing little wear. There is evidence of previous alterations to the bureau, namely new dropdown hinges and a replacement piece of wood to the rear, there are also two nibbles to the front - all of which are shown in the last few images. Basket weave bureau and cupboard with sliding doors both measure: 37cm D x 43cm H x 80cm W Glass door cabinet measures: 22.5cm D x 33.5cm H x 80cm W Shelves measure: 3 x 20cm D x 2cm H x 80cm W 2 x 24cm D x 2cm H x 80cm W 2 x 37.5cm D x 2cm H x 80cm W 1 x 36cm D x 4cm H x 80cm W (Lectern) Overall measurements: 246cm W x 198cm H x 37cm D Reference : 309736
