For sale is a Mid-Century Bohemian three-colour cased, cut and polished vase designed by renowned Czech glass artist, Oldrich Lipsky in c.1964 for the Novy Bor (EXBOR) glass foundry. The vase, which is made of pink, green and clear glass, creates some wonderful optical effects when viewed from different angles and is in superb vintage condition with very minor age-related marks on the base (see photos). Oldrich Lipsky (1922 - 1987) studied at the glass school at Kamenicky Senov from 1945-48, followed by being a glass cutter and engraver at Lobmeyr until 1950. Studied at the Academy of Applied Art in Prague under Professor Karel Stipl and Professor J. Wagner from 1950-55. Employed as teacher and head of glass cutting at the Kamenicky Senov glass school from 1958-65, followed by head of the off-hand department at the Novy Bor glass school from 1965-72, and then headmaster of the school until 1982. Known for his designs for tableware, and off-hand and cut decorative glass. Reference : 308365
