About this vintage design furniture
This bench, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli, was manufactured in Italy in the mid-70s. It consists of three seats mounted on a metal structure with oak legs, linked together by steel elements. The seats have been reupholstered in Pierre Frey fabric with abstract motifs forming a geometric composition in bright colors. The combination of Piretti's design and Pierre Frey fabric lends a singular aura to this piece, which will become a central element in any decorative scheme. The structure has been fully restored and is in superb condition.
Giancarlo Piretti (1940) is an Italian furniture maker renowned in the fields of interior and industrial design. Joining Castelli in the 1960s, he gained notoriety for his iconic designs, notably the internationally acclaimed Plia chair (1968), winner of prestigious awards. In collaboration with Emilio Ambasz in the late 1970s, he also created award-winning seating systems such as Vertebra and Dorsal. His innovative designs, inspired by the Bauhaus movement's principles of simplicity and functionality, endure today, confirming his influence on the world of contemporary design.
