About this vintage design furniture

The Z armchair comes in dark brown aniline leather and is in excellent condition. The soft leather shows minimal signs of wear. The heavy stainless steel frame is shaped like a Z and gives the chair its name Z armchair. The metal frame is also flawless and the suspension is excellent. Absolute design icon by Paul Tuttle. The Swiss manufacturer Strässle has been producing upholstered furniture with the highest craftsmanship and timeless designs since 1886. Strässle became known for using the best leather for their furniture and manufacturing their products with the highest level of craftsmanship. The German manufacturer WK Wohnen produced several models for Strässle, including this Z armchair. The American designer Paul Tuttle designed this Z armchair for Strässle International in the 1970s. Paul TUTTLE

Paul Tuttle was an American furniture designer who was born in 1934 and died in 2002. He studied at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, then began his career working for furniture manufacturer Directional Furniture.
