Vintage Art Deco bookcase in blond mahogany, 1940

This small library cabinet in blond mahogany opens with three doors mounted on "piano" hinges and fitted with original locks with brass escutcheons and keys. The side doors with rounded corners feature inlaid medallions of mother-of-pearl, light and dark wood with whimsical motifs. The central part of the cabinet, topped by a niche, features a third door with a dark chamfered frame and beveled glass. The interior features three mahogany-edged shelves and four shelves with grooves on either side. The unit rests on four slightly flattened ball feet. The recessed top is in molded wood.
