Vintage "Juno" pendant lamp by Jo Hammerborg for Fog and Mørup, Denmark 1960

Bright red "Juno" pendant by Jo Hammerborg. The Juno is a medium sized pendant light with great white flow downwards and the classic reflector ring along the sides. The top ring is actually a cylinder shape, open in the bottom, and closed on top. The top part features Jo Hammerborg’s signature “peep holes” for the light to peak trough, adding emission of a unique pattern of light. It also houses the bulb mount. The Juno pendant light was created by Jo Hammerborg in the early 1960s. It was originally only produced in copper and black. But in 1969, with strong color becoming more fashionable, the number one quality Danish lighting company Fog and Mørup released the "Rainbow Line" in red, yellow, white and blue. This red one is in good condition but with a few marks as seen in the last image. Diameter: 24 cm, height 16 cm. Standard E27 light bulb Johannes (Jo) Hammerborg grew up right outside of Randers, in a regular middle-class family. He trained as a silversmith, participated in Denmark’s resistance and struggle for freedom in 1940-45 as a saboteur, studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked as a silversmith at Georg Jensen. In 1957, he was hired as a chief designer at the lamp manufacturer Fog and Mørup, where he worked until 1980. And now, decades later, his coveted lamps are in high demand, and they are being sold in antique shops. Reference : 304006
