About this vintage design furniture
Watch with Art Deco decoration, marble and bronze, L. Lesieur, 40's – France
Wonderful over-the-clock watch in Art Deco style aged 40 with seals, made in marble and signed by the French watchmaker L. Lesieur. If you combine three colors of marble, brown, beige and green, a very decorative combination. The design is characterized by the straight lines and the lively songs with the Roman curves. Likewise, if the additional lines of maple are drawn, which recover to the streamline. Each of the three pieces is placed on the madeira pieces that follow the same geometric design.
Maquinaria Paris
It is an extraordinary piece of work made by hand with noble materials. This type of watch is representative of the era, when the combination of luxurious materials and flawless cubic shapes became synonymous with elegance. Reviewed by watch.
A precious bedroom watch for any home with a modern and trendy style!
About the Art Deco style
Art Déco, short for the French term Decorative Arts, and sometimes simply called Déco, is a style of visual arts, architecture and product design, which first appeared in France in the 1910s (just before the First World War) and flourished especially in United States, but also in Europe, during the decades of 1920 and 1930.
Art Deco combined modern styles with fine craftsmanship and traditional materials. During its heyday, it represented luxury, glamour, exuberance and faith in social and technological progress. From its beginnings, Art Deco was influenced by the bold geometric forms of Cubism and the Vienna Secsion; the vivid colors of Fauvism and Russian ballets; the actualized artesanía of the muebles of the eras of Louis XVI and Luis Felipe I; and the exotic styles of China, Japan, India, Persia, ancient Egypt and Mayan art. It featured rare and expensive materials, such as ebony and marble, and exquisite craftsmanship. The Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and other skyscrapers of New York City built during the 1920s and 1930s are monuments to the style.
On the other hand, Streamline Moderne was a later branch of Art Deco, inspired by aerodynamic forms, emerging during the great depression that occurred in the United States in the decade of the 1920s. I proposed a formal change in keeping with the new world that was emerging , influenced by futurism. Aerodynamics began to apply in the most diverse areas of design and architecture.
