About this vintage design furniture

Plate in Limoges porcelain with decoration by Jean Lurçat, 1950. The modernist rooster gives this plate a whole new dimension, making it highly decorative. Lurçat was an important painter of the 1930s, and his style is influenced by Picasso, whom he is said to have frequented. Exhibited in the 50s and 60s in Paris, Hanover and Turin, these highly original ceramics were a great success. This playful modernist piece is a highly decorative collector's item. It was produced by Porcelaine de Limoges. It is very well preserved, with virtually no defects. The colors have remained bright and beautiful.
