About this vintage design furniture
A set of 415 armchairs designed by Wim Rietveld for Gispen in the 1950s. It has a straight back and stands on a graphite-black painted steel frame. The back and seat are both made of painted steel and feature the original squared upholstery. The seat has two armrests made of Bakelite. This chair was first shown at the 10th Milan Triennial (1954) and was awarded a gold medal. The chairs are in good condition, slight discoloration in the upholstery and mild signs of use. But overall in very good condition for the age. The dimensions are: 70 cm high - 38 cm seat height - 65 cm wide - 61 cm deep
