A Mid Century Teak Round Coffee Table Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen France and Son 1960s Good Vintage Condition. Diameter 86.5cm Height 44cm A wonderful classic coffee table by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for France and Son dates from the 1960s. A High-quality solid frame and table top made of teak. Condition: This iconic sled low coffee table has been re finished, lightly sanded and sealed with a wonderful danish oil to protect it for years to come. The veneer around the top of table has worn away in a couple of tiny places, but this all adds to the charm and character of the table knowing it has been used and loved for over 60 years. Tiny previous mend on the bottom of one of the sled legs, but this was checked and does not effect the future use of the table. Some information on the manufacturers: Founded in 1948 by the British businessman Charles France and his Danish partner Eric Daverkosen. In the early years the company was called France & Daverkosen, Charles’s son James joined the company in 1957 which resulted in the name change to France & Son.
