About this vintage design furniture
This is an eye-catching wooden coffee table designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara, manufactured by Laukaan Puu in Finland around 1950.
It is made of two different tones of wood. The base is a deep black lacuqered wood, while the pine wooden square top of the piece has a natural light brown colour. The minimalist design of this piece combines really nicely with the rustic materials and creates a unique modern style that is typical for the work of Tapiovaara.
It remains in good, original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a wonderful patina.
